In this example of a double page spread of NME magazine we can see different conventions. This makes it easier for the magazine to read and understand. Different parts of the magazine also grab you're attention as you look at he magazine.An example of this is the main picture that dominates the page.

Language

The text is in black which is normall for a double page spread especially in NME. Kasabian is the main heading which is the first thing the audience see this has been done so the audience no straight away who the band being featured is.

Institution
The institution of this magazine is a commercial institute. We know this as it is a shop bought magazine and also, printed in the bottom corner is the line www.NMEmagazine.com which is leading readers to visit this website where they may be able to buy more products involved with the music magazine.


Ideology
The ideology of this music magazine is based around indie rock . This is shown through the band being used as the main image - Kasabian - a well known artist from the rock band from the indie rock industry.


Audience
The audience for this magazine is roughly 16-30 as it is a lot like Q magazine, but is a bit more serious, and a little more formal.

Representation
The main image is a medium -up shot to capture the full band and see there urban surroundings which is linked to the magazine feature of Kasabian growing up in the city. The clothes they are wearing are very similar to what an indie rock loving fan may where so it means the audience can relate to the band.
